What our supported living & social housing cleaning covers

Every programme is planned around the scheme, its shared areas and how often each space needs attention, with a considerate approach around residents.

  • Communal Kitchens & Dining Areas. Shared kitchens and dining spaces cleaned and sanitised, with worktops, sinks, appliance exteriors and floors kept hygienic for residents who share cooking and eating areas.
  • Shared Bathrooms & WCs. Communal bathrooms, wet rooms and WCs cleaned and sanitised, with tiling, fixtures and floors kept fresh, supporting hygiene standards in shared facilities.
  • Entrance Halls, Corridors & Stairwells. Shared entrances, corridors, stairwells and landings vacuumed or mopped, handrails wiped and floors kept clear, keeping circulation routes clean and safe for residents.
  • Communal Lounges & Activity Rooms. Shared lounges, activity rooms and quiet spaces dusted, surfaces wiped and floors cleaned, maintaining comfortable communal areas across the scheme.
  • Touchpoints & High-Use Surfaces. Door handles, light switches, intercoms, rails and other frequently handled surfaces cleaned, helping reduce the spread of dirt and germs in shared living environments.
  • Laundry, Bin & Refuse Areas. Shared laundry rooms, bin stores and refuse areas cleaned, washed down and deodorised, keeping the practical shared spaces of the scheme hygienic and controlled.

Every clean is scheduled, tracked and quality-checked through our CleanManager platform, with photographic evidence and completion reporting available on request.

DBS-checked operatives. COSHH compliant. Method statements and RAMS provided where required.

How We Work

Every scheme is different, so we plan each cleaning programme around the shared areas, the residents and the standards required, working considerately around a lived-in environment.

01. Site Survey & Schedule

We start with a site survey of the communal kitchens, bathrooms, corridors and shared spaces to be covered. From this we agree the scope, the cleaning frequency and a fixed rota that suits the scheme and its residents.

02. Mobilisation

We assign vetted operatives to your scheme and confirm access, key holding and any resident, care-provider or out-of-hours requirements. Site-specific RAMS are produced where required, so everything is in place before the first visit.

03. Scheduled Communal Cleaning

Our operatives attend on the agreed rota and clean each shared area to a consistent standard, working considerately around residents. Familiar, vetted staff cover the scheme visit after visit, so quality and continuity stay the same across every clean.

04. Inspections & Reporting

We carry out regular inspections to keep standards consistent and support the requirements of housing providers. Completion records and reporting are available to housing associations and managing agents, giving clear visibility across every scheme.

Who is it for?

We work across supported living and social housing schemes of every size, with most of our work supporting housing associations, managing agents and care providers responsible for shared areas.

  • Managing agents responsible for shared areas across supported and social housing
  • Freeholders and resident management companies (RMCs) with supported living schemes
  • Build-to-rent and specialist housing operators maintaining shared facilities
  • Housing associations keeping communal areas clean and hygienic for residents
  • Developers handing over completed supported and social housing schemes

As a Living Wage Employer focused on local employment, working with Optimum supports the social value and ESG commitments increasingly expected across commercial and public-sector contracts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost depends on the size of the scheme, the number of shared kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas, the number of residents and how often each space needs cleaning. Scheduled rota-based programmes are priced per visit and work out more cost-effective than ad-hoc cleans, with portfolio pricing available across multiple schemes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes and carry out a site survey for larger or multi-site portfolios.
